Minecraft Creeper bracelet for kids

Last updated: 19 March 2026

A loom-beaded bracelet with a Minecraft Creeper face — made as a gift for my son. The pixel-art pattern uses 8/0 seed beads in shades of green, with the Creeper motif repeated seven times to fit a child’s wrist.

I wanted to make something bead-related that my 8-year-old would actually like. He’s a huge Minecraft fan, and the game’s blocky pixel art style is a perfect match for loom beading — each bead is essentially one pixel.

Minecraft Creeper Bracelet

The pattern

The Creeper face is one of the simplest Minecraft motifs. It’s a square grid of green shades with a dark face pattern. I recreated it using seed beads on a bead loom.

I repeated the Creeper motif seven times across the bracelet. This gave the right length for a child’s wrist (approximately 14-15 cm).

Materials

  • Preciosa seed beads — size 8/0, various shades of green
  • Toho seed beads — size 8/0, black and dark green for the face
  • Bead loom (any standard loom works)
  • Beading thread and needle
  • Silver clasp

Size 8/0 beads work well for this project. They’re large enough to see the pattern clearly, and sturdy enough for a kid’s bracelet.

How loom beading works

Loom beading creates a flat, woven fabric of beads. Warp threads run lengthwise on the loom. You weave weft thread with beads across them, one row at a time.

It’s one of the fastest beading techniques. Once the loom is set up, a bracelet like this takes about an hour.

Years later

My son wore the bracelet on special occasions at first. Then he started clipping it to his fanny pack with a carabiner and carrying it everywhere.

Now, years later, it’s too small for his wrist — but he still keeps it as a keepsake. That’s probably the best compliment a handmade gift can get.

Tips for making pixel-art bead bracelets

  • Use graph paper to plan your pattern. Each square = one bead.
  • 8/0 beads are the best size for kids’ bracelets — visible pattern, comfortable to wear.
  • Keep tension even on the loom. Uneven tension makes the bracelet curve.
  • Finish the edges carefully. The back of a loom bracelet shows thread. A ribbon crimp or fold-over clasp hides it cleanly.

FAQ

What age is this bracelet suitable for?

I made it for my 8-year-old. The 8/0 beads are large enough that there’s no choking risk. For younger children, adult supervision is recommended.

Can I use this technique for other Minecraft characters?

Absolutely. Any pixel art works — Steve, Enderman, TNT block, Diamond Sword. The loom technique handles any rectangular pattern.

How long does it take to make?

About 1-2 hours including setup and finishing. The loom does most of the heavy lifting.

What if the bracelet becomes too small?

That’s what happened with ours. You can add an extender chain to the clasp for extra length. Or just keep it as a memento — it’s worth it.
