A SuperDuo and Tile bracelet recreated from a Pinterest image — no pattern, no tutorial, just a photo. Below: what these beads are, full materials list, and FAQ about two-hole Czech beads.
On Pinterest, some days ago, I found a nice bracelet image like that:
Neither pattern nor any tips were available on the web. The image was probably cropped from some beading magazine. I couldn’t determine which one. So I decided to recreate it on my own.
What are SuperDuo and Tile beads?
SuperDuo beads are oval-shaped Czech pressed glass beads with two parallel holes. They are manufactured by Matubo and measure 2.5 x 5 mm.
The two holes make them ideal for structural beadweaving. You can build rigid, geometric patterns that hold their shape without additional reinforcement.
Tile beads — specifically CzechMates Tile — are flat, square Czech pressed glass beads. They measure 6 x 6 x 3 mm with two parallel 1.25 mm holes.
They are larger and thicker than Japanese Miyuki Tila beads (5 x 5 x 1.9 mm). Their bigger holes allow for multiple thread passes, which is useful in complex designs.
Both bead types belong to the family of multi-hole beads popular in modern beadweaving.
The key advantage of two-hole beads is that they create connections in two directions. This makes it possible to build complex geometric structures with simple stitching.
When combined, SuperDuo and Tile create patterns with nice depth. The flat Tiles provide a stable frame while the rounded SuperDuos fill in the gaps with a slightly raised texture.
Materials
Everything you need to make this bracelet:
- Tile beads — 13 pieces (one colour)
- SuperDuo beads — 6 per each Tile, so 78 pieces for 13 Tiles
- Toho seed beads — sizes 8/0, 11/0 and 15/0 (used as connectors between the two-hole beads)
- Beading needle — size 10 or 12 (needs to pass through SuperDuo holes twice)
- Beading thread — FireLine 6lb or similar braided thread
- Clasp and jump rings
The 15/0 seed beads go into the tight spots between the SuperDuos. The 8/0 and 11/0 fill the larger gaps and add structure.
Toho brand seed beads are known for their consistent sizing. This matters when beads need to fit precisely between two-hole beads.

FAQ
Can I use different two-hole beads instead of SuperDuo?
Yes — DiamonDuo, Twin beads or MiniDuo can work as substitutes. The final look will differ depending on the shape.
DiamonDuo beads are diamond-shaped (5 x 8 mm) and create a more angular pattern. Twin beads are similar in size to SuperDuo but less uniform.
MiniDuo (2.5 x 4 mm) would make a smaller, more delicate version — about 25% smaller than SuperDuo.
How many Tile beads do I need for a larger wrist?
With 13 Tile beads the bracelet fits approximately 17-18 cm. Each additional Tile adds roughly 6 mm and requires 6 more SuperDuos.
For a 20 cm wrist, you’d need about 16-17 Tiles (96-102 SuperDuo).
Where can I buy SuperDuo and Tile beads?
Both are manufactured in the Czech Republic. SuperDuo by Matubo, Tile beads as part of the CzechMates line. Both are widely available in online bead shops across Europe and the US.
What thread works best for two-hole beads?
Braided threads like FireLine (6lb) or WildFire work best. They don’t fray when passing through bead holes multiple times.
Nymo or similar nylon threads can work too. But they’re softer and may not hold the structure as rigidly.
Summary
- A geometric bracelet combining SuperDuo (2.5 x 5 mm) and CzechMates Tile (6 x 6 x 3 mm) — two popular Czech two-hole bead shapes
- Recreated from a Pinterest image with no pattern available online
- Materials: 13 Tile beads, 78 SuperDuo (6 per Tile), Toho seed beads in sizes 8/0, 11/0 and 15/0
- The two-hole structure of both bead types creates a rigid, dimensional pattern
- Easily adjustable in length — add or remove Tile beads (each adds ~6 mm)
